=============================================================== CITIC Envirotech Ltd secured its first BOT Project for a 700 tons/day Sludge Treatment Plant in Weifang City, Shandong Province, China

________________________________________________________________________

The Board of Directors of CITIC Envirotech Ltd. (“CEL” or “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently secured its first BOT Sludge Treatment Project in Weifang City, Shandong Province, China with the total investment of RMB 220 million (SGD 48 million).

The project involves the design, construction and operation of a 700 tons/day sludge treatment plant to treat sludge generated from 6 municipal wastewater treatment plants in Weifang City. The final output of the treated sludge will meet the standard of soil conditioner and fertilizer for landscaping. The project has a concession period of 30 years.

This project will be CEL’s first project in sludge treatment. When completed by the end of 2016, the plant will be the largest sludge treatment plant in Shandong province.

Disposal and treatment of sludge will become a great challenge to the wastewater treatment industry in China. Given the more stringent environmental regulations and favourable policy trend, the sludge treatment market is poised to expand. This presents an excellent opportunity for CEL to demonstrate our capability and technologies in the “sludge to resource” and “sludge to energy” segment to expand our foothold in the new market.

The project will be funded by the proceeds from the Company’s issuance of US$175 million senior perpetual securities in November, 2015.

The above investment is not expected to have any material financial impact on the net tangible assets per share and earning per share of the group for the financial year ending 31 December 2016.

For and on behalf of the Board
