प्रतिष्ठेच्या डेव्हिस करंडक स्पर्धेत खेळण्यास काही खेळाडूंनी नकार दिल्यानंतर टेनिस संघटनेने तीव्र नाराजी व्यक्त केली होती. २०२४ मध्ये पाकिस्तानमध्ये झालेल्या डेव्हिस करंडक सामन्यात खेळण्यास नकार देणाऱ्या सुमित नागलने नंतर स्वीडन(२०२४) आणि टोगो (२०२५) यांच्याविरुद्धच्या लढतीही टाळल्या होत्या.
