UNIVERSAL APPLI<0419> & DVB (HOLDINGS><0500> - Joint Announcement DVB (Holdings) Limited Universal Appliances Limited Extension of time for despatch of circulars The directors of DVB (Holdings) Limited ("DVB") and Universal Appliances Limited ("UAL") wish to announce that the deadline for the circulars relating to certain discloseable and connected transactions and connected transactions to be issued to the respective shareholders of DVB and UAL will be extended to 9th July, 1999. Pursuant to the joint announcement issued by DVB and UAL dated 4th June, 1999 and 11th June, 1999 (the "Announcements"), circulars containing, inter alia, the independent financial advisers' advice and the advice of the Independent board committees of both DVB and UAL on the Share Swap Agreement, the Sale and Purchase Agreement, the Licensing Agreement and the Distribution Agreement (as defined in the Announcements) will be despatched to the respective shareholders of DVB and UAL. The directors of DVB and UAL wish to announce that applications have been made to The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited that the deadline for the despatch of the respective circulars will be extended to 9th July, 1999. In view of the number of agreements involved, more time is required for the finalisation of relevant information to be included in the said circulars.
