Remarks:

(1) The basis of calculation for basic and diluted EPS

The calculation of basic and diluted earnings per share is based on the
group's profit attributable to shareholders for the six months ended 30th
September 2000 of HK$46,052,000 (1999: HK$41,142,000)

The basic earnings per share is based on the weighted average of
502,717,614 (1999: 476,984,619) ordinary shares in issue during the
period. The diluted earnings per share is based on the 502,717,614 (1999:
476,984,619) ordinary shares which is the weighted average number of
ordinary shares in issue during the period plus the weighted average of
4,580,434 (1999: 14,231,321) ordinary shares deemed to be issued at no
consideration if all outstanding options had been exercised.
