New qualitative acquisition of Omma, Italy's market leader in application machines

"After the acquisition of Walco in the United States and Somerra in France at the start of 2017, Chargeurs has intensified its upmarket and Game Changer strategy for the Group's Protective Films division with the acquisition of Omma, Italy's number one manufacturer of application machines. Acquisition of Italy's leading manufacturer of application machines

Chargeurs has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Italian company Omma, a family business based in Lombardy which specializes in the manufacture of application, laminating, gluing and coating machines for four core markets: the automotive industry, metals, composites and wood.

Drawing on more than 50 years of expertise, Omma manufactures top-of-the-range, innovative and custom-built machines for its clients. Recognized for its excellence and quality, current company revenue stands at close to €6 million, of which more than 80% is generated outside Italy.

The operation is the next step in Chargeurs Protective Films' strategy to create value for its clients, broadening its existing range of application machines and its geographic reach in this new activity.

The acquisition of Omma reinforces the strategy set in place for US market leader, Walco, and French market leader, Somerra, already acquired in April 2017. The new structure will offer their clients and Chargeurs Protective Films clients a one-stop solution in protective films and application machines, and allow Omma to benefit from the global commercial clout of Chargeurs Protective Films and its brand Novacel. Lastly, the operation will also see the development of synergies in innovation and production between the three entities, Omma, Walco and Somerra.

Illustrating the Group's capacity to identify profitable niche targets with a strong lever for value creation, the acquisition of Italian leader Omma cements the new worldwide leadership of Chargeurs' and its Protective films division in the specialist market of application machines.
