Regarding the application for quotation of fully paid shares in Chalice issued pursuant to the Scheme of Arrangement between Sub-Sahara Resources NL and its shareholders (“Scheme”) I confirm the following:

The allotment and issue of 46,706,810 fully paid ordinary shares in relation to the Scheme occurred on 26 August 2009.

Outside the terms of the Scheme but conditional on the Scheme coming into effect, Chalice Gold Mines has also allotted and issued a further 1,613,727 fully paid ordinary shares to acquire the Sub-Sahara Resources unlisted partly paid shares and unlisted options.

Following allotment and issue of all of the above, there are 121,120,537 fully paid ordinary shares on issue and 6,825,000 unlisted options to acquire fully paid ordinary shares.

Attached is a statement setting out the names of the 20 largest holders of fully paid ordinary shares following the allotment and issue of all of the shares above.
