The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– CeWe Color announces preliminary annual figures for 2001 Oldenburg, 20. February 2002 – According to preliminary figures, not yet verified, turnover at CeWe Color Holding AG (SDAX, share certificate numbers 540 390, 540 392 and 540 395; ISIN DE 0005403901), the largest independent photofinisher in Europe, increased in 2001 by 8.4 % to EUR 436.9 million (previous year: EUR 403.2 million). Profits before tax (EBT) were reduced from EUR 30.0 million in 2000 by 32.8 % to EUR 20.2 million in 2001. Profits after tax fell in comparison to the previous year (EUR 13.7 million) by EUR 3.8 million to EUR 9.9 million. The drop in profits is also due to costs for restructuring measures and for exceptional special investments amounting to approximately EUR 9 million. In 2001 the investment volume amounted to EUR 38.7 million. In accordance with its plans, CeWe Color thus reduced investments by 17.6 % compared to the previous year, in order to accumulate funds required for the fully-digital printer, which will only be ready for supply in autumn 2002 or in spring 2003. In 2001 CeWe Color developed 93 million films, representing an increase of 5.4 % (in 2000 88.2 million films were developed). The number of colour prints developed was increased by 6.2% (in 2001: 3.326 billion; in 2000: 3.132 billion). For 2002 CeWe Color expects sales revenues of approximately EUR 450 – 460 million and an increase in profit from ordinary business. The digital market and retailing in Central Eastern Europe will be the primary contributors towards growth generated.
