Februar 2000 – Im Geschäftsjahr 1999 hat der größte konzernunabhängige europäische Fotofinisher, CeWe Color, in seinen 25 Betrieben erstmals über 3 Mrd. Farbbilder entwickelt und verkauft. Die Menge der entwickelten Filme wuchs auf über 86 Mio. Stück. Der Vorstand der CeWe Color Gruppe ist über die Rekordzahlen sehr glücklich. In den ersten Monaten des vergangenen Jahres war nach 2,78 Mrd. Bildern in 1998 eine Mengensteigerung von 8 – 9 % nicht so selbstverständlich zu erwarten. Die richtige Positionierung in 12 europäischen Ländern sowie die Steigerung der Leistungsfähigkeit haben CeWe Color geholfen, sich als Marktführer in Europa zu behaupten. Hubert Rothärmel, Vorstandsvorsitzender, betont, daß sich die CeWe Color Gruppe für das neue Jahrtausend klare Ziele gesteckt hat. CeWe Color wird seine Unabhängigkeit bewahren. Weiterhin wird die Präsenz in Europa und die Leistungsfähigkeit ausgebaut. Die Fotofinishing-Gruppe wird um die Marktführerschaft kämpfen, sowohl in der Leistung als auch bei den Kosten. Die digitale Fotografie soll als ein echtes zusätzliches Geschäftsfeld erschlossen und ausgebaut werden, zum eigenen Nutzen, aber auch zum Nutzen der Kunden. CeWe Color ist davon überzeugt, daß die digitale Fotografie der “konventionellen” Fotografie in den nächsten Jahren das Brot nicht wegnimmt, sondern hier liegen klar zusätzliche Chancen. Die CeWe Color Gruppe wird die digitale Technik auch nutzen, um noch bessere Bilder und ganz neue Produkte vom herkömmlichen Silberfilm (Kleinbild- und APS- Filme) zu entwickeln und zu verkaufen. The number of developed film rolls increased to more than 86 million. The Board of Directors of the CeWe Color Group is extremely pleased about these record figures. After a figure of 2.78 billion prints in 1998, an expected increase in volume of 8% – 9% could not be taken for granted in the first few months of last year. Correct positioning in twelve European countries and an increase in efficiency helped CeWe Color to maintain its position as market leader in Europe. Chairman Hubert Rothärmel emphasises that the CeWe Color Group has set clear goals for the new millennium. CeWe Color will maintain its independence. Furthermore, representation in Europe as well as company efficiency will be increased. The photofinishing group will compete for market leadership in both performance and costs. Digital photography is to be developed into a viable additional area of business, not only for the benefit of the company, but for that of the customers as well. CeWe Color is convinced that digital photography will not completely replace ‘conventional’ photography in the coming years, instead the company is convinced that there definitely are additional opportunities in this field.
