RAWSON RESOURCES PLANS TO FARMOUT DRILLING AND SEISMIC IN EP97 TO CENTRAL PETROLEUM

On 10[th] August 2007 Rawson Resources Limited (Rawson), (ASX Code RAW) signed an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) with Merlin Energy Pty. Ltd. (Merlin), a wholly owned subsidiary of Central Petroleum Limited (ASX code CTP), to farmout a portion of its EP97 permit in the Pedirka Basin

Subsequent to Merlin completing its due diligence and signing a formal Farmin agreement Merlin will have the right to earn 80% of one of three farmin prospect blocks (Simpson, Bejah and Dune, see map below) by funding 100% of the cost of a well and a 100km seismic survey. Subsequent to the drilling and completion of the first well Merlin will have 12 months to select another of the farmin blocks to earn 80% of that block by funding 100% of another well. Subsequent to the drilling and completion of that well Merlin will have 12months to farmin the remaining block to earn 80% of that block by funding 100% of that well. Merlin will operate the prospect blocks that it farms into.

Merlin is planning to drill its Blamore Prospect in EP93, adjacent to EP 97, in the fourth quarter of this year. The same drilling rig may then be moved into EP 97 to drill one well in one of the three prospect blocks, the 100km seismic program could be run after the drilling of the first well.

Rawson will retain the right to operate EP97 and the remaining area of the permit which contains numerous additional prospects and leads.

More details of the prospect blocks, size and potential of the remaining area of EP97 can be seen in the announcement released to the ASX on 26[th] July 2007.

The map below displays the location of the prospect blocks.
