Director's Interest in Shares

Central Asia Metals plc (AIM:CAML) has been notified of dealings that have taken place on Friday 10 January of ordinary shares of US$0.01 each of the Company ("Shares") in which Robert Cathery, a non-executive Director of the Company has an interest.

Robert Cathery's Family Trust disposed of 600,000 Shares at a price of 170 pence per Share which equivalent number of Shares were then acquired at 170.01 pence as follows:

1.    350,000 Shares by Robert Cathery; and

2.    250,000 Shares by Mr Cathery's wife, Elizabeth Cathery.

Following the above transactions, Mr Cathery's total beneficial interest in the Company's Shares is 3,636,699 Shares, representing approximately 4.29% of the issued share capital of the Company. Of the 3,636,699 Shares, 2,189,254 are now held by Mr Cathery, 267,445 shares are held by Elizabeth Cathery and 1,180,000 are held jointly by him with Elizabeth Cathery in the Family Trust.
