Retirement of Non-Executive Director

Centamin announces that Trevor Schultz, a Non-Executive Director, has notified the Company of his intention to retire at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting, to be held on 26 March 2018.

Trevor joined the Company in 2008 as Executive Director of Operations to build the Sukari Gold Mine Stage 1 4Mtpa processing plant, which was successfully delivered on time and on budget. Over the subsequent six years Trevor was responsible for the staged expansion of the processing capacity to today's steady state 12Mtpa operation. In 2014, Trevor transitioned from executive to non-executive director serving as Chairman of the Health, Safety and Environmental committee.

Following Trevor's retirement, the Centamin board will comprise of seven members; three executives and four independent non-executives.  As part of the ongoing commitment to achieving the highest standards of corporate governance, and a prudent exercise as the Company transitions into the next stage of growth, the Company is conducting a comprehensive board evaluation ensuring we have the optimal composition, skill set and experience.

Josef El-Raghy, Chairman commented:

"Trevor has been a trusted and respected mentor and a colleague to us all. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his unwavering commitment and leadership which has resulted in building Egypt's first modern gold mine and a top 20 gold mine worldwide.    Employees of Centamin, the Arab Republic of Egypt and Centamin shareholders have all benefited greatly from Trevor's time with the Company and that benefit will continue into the future."
