CEGEDIM: ACQUISITION OF THE PHARMACIE GESTION INFORMATIQUE (PGI) COMPANY IN FRANCE
THIS DEAL WILL STRENGTHEN ALLIADIS POSITIONS IN THE PHARMACY SOFTWARE MARKET, NOTABLY IN BRITTANY REGION
Paris, January 6, 2010 – Alliadis, the pharmacy software specialist at the Cegedim Healthcare Software division of the Cegedim Group, announces the acquisition of Pharmacie Gestion Informatique (PGI), a publisher of pharmacy management software.
A family company founded in 1993, PGI has a comprehensive offering for French pharmacies ranging from software solutions (Pharma, Facto Pharma and Officina software, to name a few) and equipment to an array of services including installation, training, maintenance and tech support. PGI has a strong presence in the region of Brittany, where it is based in the town of Hanvec.
Retaining its human scale, the company has in recent years excelled both commercially and technically, adapting to the specific needs of significant groups of pharmacists and earning respect for its ability to manage pharmacy group platforms using an "open" technology that communicates very effectively.
"We are thrilled with this acquisition, which strengthens our positions in Brittany and rounds out our range of software solutions for managing French pharmacies," said Christian Armando, CEO of Alliadis.
"With backing from its regional maintenance and service units, PGI will now have the resources to continue its development around the country as part of the Cegedim Group," added PGI co-founder Philippe Grall.
The deal was finalized on October 30th 2009 by internal financing. These activities represent annual revenues of more than €1 million and will be part of the consolidation scope of Cegedim Group for Q4 2009.
