Dublin, London | 6 January, 2015: C&C Group plc (“C&C” or the “Group”), a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded cider and beer, announces that it does not intend to proceed with an offer for Spirit Pub Company plc (‘Spirit’) as a combination with Spirit no longer meets the Group's risk adjusted return criteria.

This statement is subject to Rule 2.8 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers.
