PRESS RELEASE Boulogne-Billancourt, January 21, 2014
The Board of Directors of Carrefour, during its meeting on January 15, 2014, co-opted as Director Thomas J. Barrack Jr., Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Colony Capital. He will replace Sébastien Bazin for the remainder of his term until the end of the General Assembly called to approve the accounts for the year ending December 31, 2015.
This appointment will be subject to shareholder ratification at Carrefour's next General Assembly.
Georges Plassat, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, on behalf of all Board members, thanks Sébastien Bazin for his contribution and commitment to Carrefour's Board of Directors, of which he was Vice President and Director, as well as to the specific Board committees.
Before founding Colony Capital in 1990, Thomas J. Barrack Jr., a U.S. national, was a principal with The Robert M. Bass Group, a Forth Worth, Texas-based investment group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from the University of San Diego.
