Appointment of Joseph E. Haniford as Chief Operating Officer

On June 30, 2016, Joseph E. Haniford was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Carpenter Technology Corporation (the “ *Company*** ”), a position created by the Company’s Board of Directors concurrent with Mr. Haniford’s appointment. Mr. Haniford had served as the Company’s Senior Vice President — Specialty Alloys Operations since July 13, 2015. No changes were made to Mr. Haniford’s compensation as a result of him being appointed to a new position within the Company.
