Edwina Gilbert joins carsales.com Ltd Board of Directors

carsales.com Limited (ASX: CAR) today announced Edwina Gilbert has been appointed to its Board of Directors as a Non-executive Director effective 27 April 2016.

carsales.com Ltd’s Chairman, Jeff Browne, advised that Ms Gilbert’s appointment comes after due consideration of a number of highly qualified candidates.

“We were determined to appoint someone who would further strengthen our board’s breadth of talent and background, and we are delighted to have identified such an outstanding individual,” said Mr Browne. “I’m confident that Edwina will quickly make an important and positive impact on our company.”

“Edwina has extremely desirable automotive industry experience,” Mr Browne said. “We were specifically looking for a new Board member to bring additional industry representation to the table and Edwina’s deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities from a Dealer Principal’s perspective, are rare and invaluable.”

Ms Gilbert commenced her professional career in law, before joining Phil Gilbert Motor Group in 2003. Having progressed through the dealership in various roles Ms Gilbert is now Dealer Principal of Gillen Motors and Director of Phil Gilbert Motor Group. She has overseen the acquisition and opening of new dealerships, been responsible for setting the strategic direction of her dealership and manages 200 staff with two brands in two busy metropolitan locations.

For Ms Gilbert, joining the carsales.com Board was a great opportunity.
