CAPRICORN APPOINTS JONATHAN SHELLABEAR AS A DIRECTOR

Further strengthens board in lead-up to project financing and development

Capricorn Metals Ltd (ASX: CMM) is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced corporate finance and mining executive Jonathan Shellabear as a Non-Executive Director effective immediately.

Mr Shellabear is Managing Director of the private equity and corporate advisory firm Sirona Capital and has over 25 years’ experience in the mining industry working both as a senior corporate executive and investment banker.

He has held senior executive positions with Resource Finance Corporation, Deutsche Bank, NM Rothschild & Sons and Portman Limited and was previously the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion Mining Limited, which was acquired by Kingsgate Consolidated in February 2011 to create, at that time, Australia’s second largest listed gold company by market capitalization.

Mr Shellabear holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia.

Capricorn’s Managing Director, Mr Peter Thompson, said Mr Shellabear brought a wealth of technical, commercial, financial and operational skills to the Company which would be invaluable as it moved towards financing and development of the Karlawinda Gold Project.

“We are delighted that Jonathan has accepted our invitation to join the Board at an important time in the Company’s development as we complete the Karlawinda resource drill-out and focus on completing the Feasibility Study by mid-2017,” he said.

“His strong commercial acumen, extensive knowledge of financial and capital markets, and broad contact network both within the mining industry and international capital markets will be invaluable as we progress towards production.

“Jonathan’s appointment complements the existing corporate, geological and project development skills we have on the board and represents a valuable addition to our growing team as we embark on the next exciting chapter in the Company’s growth,” he added.
