The financial crisis has now also hit the IT sector. After being on the
sunny side of economic trends in recent years with high growth rates, the
climate for the sector has now undergone a significant downturn. PIRONET
NDH has reacted to this promptly. All those involved took concerted action
to string together a package of measures, the implementation of which is
occurring in the second half of the year and will lead to costs savings of
around 2.5 million already in 2009. By far the largest part of this, namely
more than 40%, concerns staffing costs. In order to prevent a further
diminishing of liquid fund holdings, a significant decrease in investments
in internal products has been decided and all external costs have been
carefully evaluated.

PIRONET NDH continued its growth in the first 6 months of the current
reporting period but the uncertainties have increased during the course of
the year. The Board is therefore assuming that, on the basis of the current
information, the internal goal of double-digit growth in turnover will not
be achieved. PIRONET NDH's EBIT and EBT have gone into the red in the
first half of the year at -0.7 EUR and -1.1 EUR respectively. This
situation requires robust counter-measures and, accordingly, a rapid
response was essential. The costs must be adapted. The aim of the package
of measures is to break the negative earnings trend. The half year report
for 2009 will be made public on 31/08.
