Under the agreement Hewlett-Packard will pre-install the standard Internet software package pirobase developed by PIRONET on their HP NetServer computers. HP Consulting will also assume the role of integration partner for pirobase within the scope of the collaboration. The pirobase package provides a comprehensive spectrum of content management functions that enable companies to build and maintain complex Intranet, Extranet and Internet environments with database support. In addition to this they can also use the software to efficiently manage their relationships with their employees, partners and customers. “Content management is an outstandingly attractive market,” says Fritz Rombach, CEO of HP Consulting, “and pirobase delivers a scalable technical architecture. I see particularly promising potential for this software with our present and future enterprise customers in the field of our E-Services.”HP Consulting’s integration services will include the entire pirobase service portfolio, from consultation on implementation to operation of the application. For its part, PIRONET AG is going to port its software to the HP-UX operating system in order to meet the scalability and availability specifications required in Enterprise Accounts.
