CANCOM IT Systeme AG announces 45.7 percent increase in EBIT in the first half of 2006

Ad hoc announcement transmitted by DGAP – a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— CANCOM IT Systeme AG announces 45.7 percent increase in EBIT in the first half of 2006 * € 109.6 million sales revenues in the first half of 2006, compared with € 105.6 million in the first half of 2005 (up 3.8 percent) * € 21.6 million gross profit in the first half of 2006, compared with € 19.5 million in the first half of 2005 (up 10.7 percent) * € 1.3 million EBIT in the first half of 2006, compared with € 0.9 million in the first half of 2005 (up 45.7 percent) Jettingen-Scheppach, Germany, 3 August 2006 The CANCOM Group, one of the foremost suppliers of IT infrastructure and services, has achieved a further increase in its sales revenues and profits in the first half of 2006 in comparison with the same period of 2005, according to preliminary figures. Consolidated sales revenues rose from € 105.6 million to € 109.6 million – an increase of 3.8 percent. Of this figure, € 52.4 million is attributable to the second quarter of 2006, compared with € 53.4 million in the second quarter of 2005. The reason for this result is the suppressed demand for Apple computers in anticipation of the launch of new products. The sales revenues are expected to recover accordingly in the second half of 2006 and in the first half of 2007, and this should have an appreciable impact on profits. At the same time the IT services business continued its upward trend, resulting in a further increase in the consolidated gross profit and consolidated operating profit in both the first quarter and the first half-year of 2006. At € 21.6 million, the consolidated gross profit in the first half of 2006 is 10.7 percent higher than in the same period of 2005. Consolidated earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) rose to € 1.3 million, an increase of 45.7 percent in comparison with the first half of 2005. For the second quarter of 2006, consolidated EBIT amounted to € 0.6 million, compared with € 0.5 million in 2005. The Executive Board expects a significant increase in sales revenues and profits, starting in the current quarter, partly as a result of the recently completed takeover of NSG Netzwerk-Service GmbH. The interim report for the first half of 2006 is available in German from 11 August 2006 – earlier than originally scheduled – at www.cancom.de. The English version will be published on 31 August 2006.
