The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– PIRONET NDH with substantially reduced loss Weaker revenues Brisk order receipts Cologne, May 21, 2002: The sustained difficult business conditions currently affecting many IT companies have also been exerting strain on PIRONET NDH AG’s revenues. Preliminary first-quarter revenues came to EUR 5.4 million, down from EUR 6.0 million one year earlier. This 10% decline in revenues is primarily due to delays in project business arising from general IT spending restraint. In spite of the lower revenues, PIRONET NDH was able to substantially improve its profitability over the previous year. Thus, loss at the EBIT level contracted by more than 40% from EUR 1.85 million in the first quarter of 2001 to EUR 1.1 million in the first quarter of this year. This reflects the benefits derived from last year’s restructuring, which primarily entailed implementing lean cost structures. This trend will gain momentum as soon as the revenues situation reverts to normal. Accordingly, given current brisk order receipts. PIRONET NDH is confident of breaking even at the EBIT level on a full-year basis. At EUR 8.5 million, order books have hit a new record.
