Sub : Appointment of Shri Brij Mohan Sharma as Executive Director Ref: Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulation, 2015
This is to inform the Exchanges that in exercise of powers conferred by the proviso to clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, read with sub-paragraph (I) of paragraph 8 of the Nationali-sed Banks (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970, the Central Government has appointed Shri Brij Mohan Sharma (DOB : 23.06.1963), Chief General Manager, Punjab National Bank as Executive Director in Canara Bank with effect from the date of assumption of office and up to the date of his attaining the age of superannuation (i.e., 30.06.2023), or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vide Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services notification no. F. No. 4/3/2020-BO.I dated 19th May 2021.

BRIEF PROFILE
Shri Brij Mohan Sharma is a Post Graduate in Commerce (M.Com), B.Com (Gold Medalist) and CAIIB.
He joined erstwhile Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) in 1983 and has risen to the level of Chief General Manager in Punjab National Bank. He has rich experience in both Branch Banking and Administration. During his 38 years long banking career, he has served as Regional Head of Bhopal, Pune and Western Indian Region (Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa). He has shouldered the functional responsibility of Human Resources and Risk Management in the Bank. He has also headed Inspection and Audit Divisions in Punjab National Bank.
He has taken Charge as Executive Director of Canara Bank on 19[th ] May 2021.
