Cambi awarded its first contract in Israel, in the city of Be’er Sheva

Asker, Norway, 10 July 2023

Cambi is pleased to announce the award of its first project in Israel for a thermal hydrolysis process (THP) system to treat solids from a wastewater treatment facility in the city of Be’er Sheva.

Cambi’s solution was selected because of its reliability, performance, and affordability in operations. Thermal hydrolysis, followed by anaerobic digestion, will enable water utility company Mei Sheva to address urban growth in the region, which currently has more than 240,000 residents.

Eirik Fadnes, CEO at Cambi, remarked: “Cambi is excited to enter the Israeli market. We approach this project with a strong sense of accomplishment and responsibility and look forward to a fruitful collaboration with Mei Sheva to bring into operation the first THP in a desert city”.

The THP unit from Cambi will convert solids from Be’er Sheva’s wastewater treatment facility into renewable energy and exceptional quality biosolids for local reuse.

The contract comprises the THP system and ancillary equipment such as digester coolers, a silo and a steam boiler. The project is scheduled for site delivery in the first quarter of 2025.
