Cairn Homes appoints Jude Byrne as new COO

22, October 2015: Cairn Homes PLC (LSE: CRN), the Irish homebuilder, has today announced the appointment of Jude Byrne as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective from 9 November 2015.

Jude joins from Irish commercial semi-state company Coillte where he served as Director of Asset Development since 2011. Prior to that, Jude spent 10 years with Castlethorn Construction, a leading Irish homebuilder where, as Development Manager, he was responsible for the planning and front-end development of over 5,000 residential units across the various landbanks held by the company throughout the Greater Dublin Area.  Jude also led on the planning and development of the €1.2 billion Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) in West Dublin, one of the largest residential new-town projects in Europe. 

Jude is an award-winning chartered engineer with over 25 years' experience in property development and large scale infrastructure delivery. Jude's extensive industry background encompasses construction contracting, project management, design and construction management for leading developments in the public and private sector, including significant experience in the larger scale residential and housing development sector.

Liam O'Brien moves to the new position of Head of Construction and will continue to focus on the expansion of Cairn's construction activities.

Cairn Homes recently launched its first development at Parkside, Malahide Road, Dublin 13, attracting strong interest from young families and first time buyers.  Cairn currently has nine sites at various stages of development, planning and constructions, with further launches planned for 2016.
