Demnach stiegen die Umsatzerlöse in den ersten neun Monaten des laufenden Geschäftsjahres um 136% von rund 9,5 Mio. DM auf 22,3 Mio. DM. Das Bruttoergebnis vom Umsatz konnte im gleichen Zeitraum um über 400% von 2,1 Mio. DM auf 10,7 Mio. DM gesteigert werden. Dies entspricht einer Bruttoumsatz-Rendite von 48% nach nur 22% im Vorjahreszeitraum. Mit einem operativen Gewinn in Höhe von 1,5 Mio. DM (US-GAAP) im dritten Quartal konnte das Ergebnis der ersten neun Monate von -6,5 Mio. DM in 1999 auf nunmehr -3,3 Mio. DM fast halbiert werden. Besser als erwartet hat sich der neue Geschäftsbereich E-Contracting entwickelt: die neue Sparte trägt allein im dritten Quartal des laufenden Geschäftsjahres mit einem Umsatz in Höhe von 4,5 Mio. November 2000 ebenfalls im Internet veröffentlicht. ——————————————————————————- Englischer text ——————————————————————————- DataDesign’s Quarterly Performance Confirms Turnaround Munich-based DataDesign AG, the premiere infrastructure provider for Internet business transaction and security solutions (German WKN 552 710; SE code DTD), today announced its preliminary figures for the first nine months of 2000 and the third quarter of 2000. Accordingly, sales revenue increased by 136% from approximately 9.5 million DM to 22.3 million DM in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. In the same period, gross profit on sales increased by 400% from 2.1 million DM to 10.7 million DM. This is equal to a gross margin of 48%, a significant improvement over the margin of just 22% for the same period of the previous year. With a third quarter operating profit of 1.5 million DM (US GAAP), the result for the first nine months came to negative 3.3 million DM, almost half of the negative 6.5 million DM that the company reported for the same period of the previous year. The new line of business E-Contracting developed better than expected: with sales amounting to 4.5 million DM alone in the third quarter of the current fiscal year, it accounted for 40% of total turnover. Roy von der Locht, CEO of DataDesign AG, notes, “We are extremely satisfied with the developments in this year. High-margin licensing business in the field of E-Contracting will improve our earnings situation considerably in the coming years. In this year alone, we were able to improve the gross margin from 11% in the first three months to 48% in the last nine months.
