BROCKMAN WELCOMES CONCLUSION OF WAH NAM BID AND LOOKS FORWARD TO ADVANCING MARILLANA PROJECT
The Directors of Brockman Resources Limited (ASX Code: BRM – “Brockman” or “the Company”) refer to the announcement made on Friday 10 June by Wah Nam International Holdings ("Wah Nam") that its takeover offer for Brockman will close on 15 June 2011 and the offer period will not be extended beyond this date.
The Brockman Directors reiterate their recommendation that shareholders should NOT ACCEPT the offer from Wah Nam as it does not represent appropriate value for their Brockman shares.
Brockman welcomes the conclusion of the bid, and looks forward to creating significant shareholder value by concluding FEED design and the Bankable Feasibility Study for the Marillana Project, financing the Project and commencing site construction early next year. Negotiations on a final rail solution for the Marillana Project will proceed and now have the potential to be concluded.
Brockman will continue to operate as an ASX listed Company and shareholders in Brockman will retain direct exposure to the value appreciation of Brockman’s assets, in particular the Marillana project, as it continues to meet its targets and finalises an infrastructure solution. The Board believes the advantages of remaining a minority shareholder in Brockman should outweigh those of holding a diluted interest in Brockman’s assets through a Wah Nam listing.
