Intra Energy announces passing of CEO

It is with sadness and regret that Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX:IEC) announces the sudden loss of its CEO, Tarn Brereton, who passed away at home in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania last Friday night from a suspected asthma attack. IEC conveys its sincere condolences to his wife, parents and family.

Mr Mark McAndrew, Executive Director and COO of IEC will this week take over the duties as acting CEO until a suitable replacement is made. Ms Kerry Angel, Group Financial Controller, will assist him.

Chairman Mr Graeme Robertson expressed the company's sincere condolences noting that Mr Brereton had steered IEC through a very difficult period of declining sales from import competition and had successfully positioned it to move towards energy diversification and electricity generation.
