APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AND UPDATE ON TANZANIAN OPERATIONS

Appointment of Chief Operating Officer

Atomic Resources Limited („Atomic‟) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Mapp as Chief Operating Officer.

Michael is a highly respected and successful mining professional who has been working in the industry for more than 20 years. Michael joins Atomic from Xstrata where he was Operations Manager of Ulan Coal.

Prior to Ulan Coal, Michael was Director of Coal Operations Australia for Vale, responsible for operations including Carborough Downs, Isaac Plains, Broadlea and the Integra Coal underground and open-cut mines. He was promoted to Director after positions of Executive General Manager of Vale Australian Operations, Executive General Manager of Vale NSW Operations and General Manager of Integra Coal Operations with AMCI.

Mr Graeme Robertson, Chairman of Atomic commented on he appointment,

“We are thrilled that Michael has joined Atomic. He is a hands on, very capable mine operating professional, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Atomic. Michael complements the current senior executives in Atomic and will be an invaluable asset as we develop our maiden thermal coal mine at Mbalawala in Tanzania”.

Update of Operations in Tanzania

Atomic has placed orders for mining equipment for the initial mining operations (excavator, loaders, grader and dozer) needed for Atomics‟ Mbalawala thermal coal mine in South-West Tanzania. Atomic will own and run its own equipment fleet under the direction of Operations Manager Gordon McCormack and Maintenance Manager Jan Viljoen. The mine is currently under development with first overburden removal planned for May 2011 and initial coal mined in June 2011.

All required equipment is available immediately ex-Dar es Salaam and will be mobilized to the mine site over the next month. Additionally, a mobile crusher, a fleet of trucks and two weighbridges have been ordered.

Tanzania Parliamentary delegation Visits Mbalawala Mine

Parliamentarians and central and provincial government officials, accompanied by executives of the joint venture (Tancoal) and Atomic‟s joint venture partner the National Development Corporation visited the Mbalawala mine site on Wednesday 9 March 2011.

The delegation was impressed and encouraged by the progress made over the past two months. Tancoal has initiated a number of community and social initiatives in and around the mine site, which include programs at the local schools and medical facilities.
