Bodycote plc ("Bodycote" or "the Group") announces that Alan Thomson has informed the Board of his intention to retire as Chairman and a Director of the Board.

A search for a new Chairman has commenced and Alan will remain in his position until a successor is found.

Stephen Harris, Group Chief Executive of Bodycote, said:
