Appointment of Senthil Balasubramanian as Group President- Manufacturing in Blue Star

Blue Star Limited announces the appointment of Senthil Balasubramanian (Balasubramanian) as Group President- Manufacturing with effect from July 1, 2024. He will drive the implementation of Blue Star Manufacturing strategy which entails capacity enhancement, product portfolio expansion and backword integration.

With a rich experience of over three decades, Balasubramanian possesses a diverse expertise in the manufacturing sector with robust experience in consolidating and synergising multi-plant operations. Balasubramanian has worked across 6 different countries; namely, US, India, China, Philippines, Mexico and Puerto Rico. In his career, he has experience of working and leading global teams through change management to facilitate improved processes and programs which align with the business goals of the organisations.

In his earlier role with Ultra Maritime as the Vice President Operations, he supervised the manufacturing of defence products for the US Navy while leading a cross-functional team of 1500 employees across various functions like operations, lean practices, supply chain, quality, HR, finance and continuous improvement, besides others. Prior to this, Balasubramanian spent over 9 years at Collins Aerospace in largely two roles; first role was managing operations in Philippines spanning 5 factories and the second role was managing operations in Puerto Rico spanning 9 factories. At Rexnord Industries as the Director of North American Operations, he was leading the manufacturing of couplings of varying sizes used in mining and power industries. Balasubramanian has worked with ITT Corporation at Mexico; Black & Decker in the USA, and prior to this, a twoyear stint at Newell Rubbermaid in India.

Balasubramanian holds a Masters in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, USA; a Masters in Engineering from Mississippi State University, Starkville, USA; and Bachelors in Production Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
