PRESS RELEASE

Blue Star elevates Mr P Venkat Rao to the Board designated as Executive Director - Projects, Solutions & International

The Board of Directors of Blue Star Limited in its meeting held on August 6, 2024, has appointed Mr P Venkat Rao (P V Rao) as a Working Director designated as Executive Director- Projects, Solutions & International with effect from August 7, 2024, up to July 31, 2028, subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Mr P V Rao will be the third Working Director joining the Board in addition to Mr Vir Advani, Chairman & Managing Director and Mr B Thiagarajan, Managing Director.

P V Rao holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an MBA in Marketing and a Post Graduate diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. He has also completed the ‘Senior Executive Program’ from London Business School.

P V Rao joined Blue Star in 1985, and in his long and successful career spanning over 36 years in the Company, he has held various positions and currently, as the President & Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for the Electro-Mechanical Projects and Commercial Air Conditioning Systems segment.

P V Rao currently represents Blue Star Limited in CII Western Regional Council as an elected member. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE).

Vir S Advani, Chairman & Manging Director adds, “P V Rao is a customeroriented professional with rich experience in running B2B businesses. He played a significant role in the turnaround of the Electro-Mechanical Projects business and making it a profitable segment with a differentiated value proposition of Superior Projects Delivery. He is a welcome addition to the Board, and in his new role as an Executive Director, P V Rao will be responsible for the expansion of the air conditioning and refrigeration products business in the Middle East & Africa markets.”
