Item 8.01 Other Events.

On October 10, 2014, The Blackstone Group L.P. issued a press release announcing that the board of directors of its general partner has approved a plan to spin off its financial and strategic advisory services, restructuring and reorganization advisory services and Park Hill fund placement businesses and combine them with PJT Partners, an independent financial advisory firm founded by Paul J. Taubman.

A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and incorporated herein by reference.
