ASX Markets Announcements Australian Stock Exchange Limited 10[th] Floor, 20 Bond Street Sydney NSW 2000
Dear Sirs
OIL BASINS INCREASES HOLDING IN BACKREEF AREA TO 100%
The Directors of Oil Basins Limited ( OBL , ASX codes OBL and OBLOB, or the Company ) are pleased to make the following ASX announcement.
OBL wishes to advise that after the close of business 13 June 2013 it had executed a Memorandum of Understanding with Green Rock Energy Limited (ASX code GRK ) for the acquisition of 100% of the equity of GRK’s wholly owned subsidiary Greenrock Canning Basin Pty Ltd* [ABN 57 119 477 084] formerly called OBL Backreef No.5 Pty Ltd ; holding a 20% beneficial interest in the Backreef Area, Canning Basin ( Figure 1 ).
The agreed terms are as follows:
OBL will provide GRK or nominee 25 million new OBL ordinary shares, nominally issued at 2.0 cents per share (escrowed for 3 calendar months) and nominal adjustments of existing and future cash calls resulting in a final payment of circa $39,000 to OBL.
Formal agreement and settlement is expected on or before 20 June 2013.
This transfer and assignment back to OBL is subject to the requisite stakeholder approvals, following which OBL and subsidiaries (collectively the OBL Group) will hold a 100% beneficial interest in the Backreef Area.
Note * to be appropriately re-named in due course (after the GRK transaction is complete).

As previously mentioned in the OBL March 2013 Quarterly Activities Report dated 30 April 2013 whilst there are presently no work program obligations for the Company during 2013 within the Backreef Area, the Company remains committed to the Backreef Area and is looking at ways to accelerate a meaningful operational program during 2013.
This transaction with GRK will facilitate exploration and/or a farmout whilst allowing OBL to maintain a significant % in this prospective acreage for both tight conventional oil and unconventional shale oil and gas (USO) / (USG).
Yours faithfully
