Appointment of Richard Beresford as Non-Executive Director

Green Rock Energy Limited (ASX: GRK) announces the appointment of energy professional Mr Richard Beresford to its Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director effective from 30 September 2008. Mr Beresford has in excess of 25 years experience in the field of clean energy in areas such as research, technology commercialisation, operations, business development and capital raising. Over this period he has had direct and extensive involvement in the development of a broad cross-section of renewable and clean energy technologies and applications.

Mr Beresford, who is based in Perth, Western Australia, is the founder of Clearer Sky Pty Ltd an advisory firm specialising in assisting technology developers and start-up companies in the field of sustainable energy, to establish and grow their businesses. Amongst other appointments Clearer Sky was retained by Curtin University of Technology to advise on the commercialisation of gas processing technology by Cool Energy Limited, and by Bioenergy Australia Limited, a renewable energy and plantation company, for energy and corporate strategy development. He was also Chairman of ASX listed Solar Energy Systems Limited.

Prior to the establishment of Clearer Sky Pty Ltd, Mr Beresford was Managing Director of Metasource Pty Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of Woodside Energy Limited. He was directly responsible for the establishment and strategic direction of Metasource Pty Limited resulting in the development of a portfolio of investments in new clean and renewable energy technologies.

Mr Beresford gained international experience through various appointments with British Gas plc (now BG plc) which included the post of Development Manager in Global Gas (London) where he was responsible for gas and power generation investments in Asia, as Country Manager Indonesia (Jakarta) where he focussed on the development of British Gas interests across the range in the region and more recently in management and advisory roles to the energy supply division of China Light and Power Company Limited in Hong Kong.(CLP).

Green Rock Energy’s Managing Director, Adrian Larking said: “Richard’s broad knowledge and experience in the field of renewable energy and at a high levels in the corporate sphere will be an invaluable addition to Green Rock in its aim to become a leading developer of low emission, renewable, base load geothermal energy.”

Mr Beresford holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Technology and Development from Imperial College, London University. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy. He has been a director of several listed and unlisted companies including the role of Chairman, and is currently non-executive director of LNG Limited (ASX: LNG), Eden Energy Limited (ASX: EDE) and Gas Link Global Limited.
