As expected, Professor Gregor Schulz has been appointed Chairman of Biotest AG following the Shareholders’ Meeting held today in Frankfurt/Main. He succeeds Dr. Dieter Merz, who has been Chairman since 1996. Dr. Merz will retire in the couse of August after a successful career with the company that spans nearly 35 years. Professor Schulz is a doctor and scientist by profession. During his time as Research Director at Behring and Managing Director of CellGenix, he has accumulated years of experience across Biotest’s core business areas of clinical immunology, haematology and transfusion medicine. His role will involve progressing the strategic re-orientation of Biotest that commenced last autumn.
