The Frankfurt am Main local court has appointed Werner Spinner, from October 1, 2003 to be a member of the supervisory board of Biotest AG, a prime standard quoted company. He will succeed the current chairman of the supervisory board Dr. Hans Schleussner, who resigns because of his age at the same time. Mr. Spinner, who studied commerce at university, has comprehensive experience in both domestic and international health care business resulting from his employment at Bayer which lasted almost thirty years and where he has been a member of the management board for the last five years. The 54-year old is married and has four children. The Biotest AG supervisory board is expected to elect Werner Spinner as the chairman and Dr. Hans Schleussner as the honorary chairman on 17th October. On September 24, 2003, Dr. Schleussner was decorated with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his outstanding achievements in scientific, cultural and social interests. Biotest was founded by Dr. Hans Schleussner and his father in 1946. Under the management of Dr. Hans Schleussner the pharmaceutical company achieved a global acting enterprise. Before elected as a chairman of the supervisory board in 1996, he was chairman of the board of management since the change into a public company in 1987.
