                                                      For immediate release                                                                 22 August 2014                         THE BIOTECH GROWTH TRUST PLC                                (the "Company")                    MARKET PURCHASE OF COMPANY'S OWN SHARESNotification is given, pursuant to the authority granted at the Annual GeneralMeeting of the Company held on 10 July 2014 to make market purchases of theCompany's own shares up to an aggregate maximum of 10,170,676 that a markettotal of 45,263 Ordinary shares of 25p each in the capital of the Company werepurchased today by the Company at a price of 525.12p per share.
