Appointment of New Director

The Board of The Biotech Growth Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steve Bates as an independent non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 8 July 2015.

Steve has a wealth of experience as an investment manager and holds several non-executive investment trust directorships.

The Chairman of The Biotech Growth Trust PLC, The Rt Hon Lord Waldegrave of North Hill, commented:

“My fellow Directors and I are delighted to welcome Steve to the Board. We are very pleased to have appointed a Director with extensive industry expertise and a strong interest in the investment trust sector.”

Mr Bates is also chairman of F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust plc, Baring Emerging Europe plc and the Vinacapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited. He is a non-executive director of British Empire Securities and General Trust plc.

His appointment will be proposed to shareholders for election at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in July 2016.

There is no further information to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13R(2) to (6).
