Bharat Electronics Ltd presents SWAGAT to the Nation

AHMEDABAD, March 4, 2019: Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is delighted to present SWAGAT, the Automatic Fare Collection Gating System jointly developed by BEL & Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), which is set to transform the lives of commuters.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched SWAGAT on the occasion of inaugural of Phase I of the Ahmedabad Metro today.

SWAGAT is a national initiative steered by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in collaboration with BEL and CDAC with the support of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) and State Bank of India (SBI).

SWAGAT is compliant with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) ecosystem for hassle-free commute across India. It is in keeping with the spirit of Make in India, Digital India and Skill India.

It has qualified a stringent certification process and has received EMVCo certification by FIME Lab, France.

SWAGAT is the first indigenous system and the first ever outside the developed world. It can operate across all cities and all modes of transport to make ‘One Nation – One Card’ a reality.

It provides a convenient and seamless experience for the commuter. This state-ofthe-art technology is a huge step towards a cashless, digital India.

This fully indigenous and interoperable System consists of:

• National Common Mobility Card

• Automatic Fare Collection System

• Validation Terminal

• Gates

The Automatic Fare Collection System has been designed and developed by CDAC, a premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics & IT. The Validation Terminal and Gates have been co-designed and developed by CDAC and BEL. All the subsystems are made in India and the IP rests with India.

BEL is taking up the large-scale manufacturing and deployment of the System at its well-equipped manufacturing facilities.

With this, India will join the group of very few elite nations who have successfully developed and deployed this technology.

Salient features

• Mobility cum debit / credit card.

• In a phased manner, SWAGAT will be implemented across all modes of transport, be it Metro, Trains or Buses.

• Will work across all cities.

�वागत प�रयोजना क� पहल आवास व शहरी काय� मं�ालय �ारा बीईएल और सीडैक के सहयोग से क� गई है िजसे �द�ली मे�ो रेल िनगम (डीएमआरसी), भारतीय रा�ीय भुगतान िनगम (एनपीसीआई) और भारतीय �टेट ब�क (एसबीआई) का समथ�न �ा� है।

�वागत िबना �कसी परेशानी के भारत भर म� कह� भी या�ा करने के िलए नेशनल कॉमन मोिबिलटी काड� के अनु�प है। इसे मेक इन इंिडया, िडिजटल इंिडया और ि�कल इंिडया क� भावना को �यान म� रखते �ए तैयार �कया गया है।

यह �माणीकरण क� क�ठन ���या को पूरा करता है और इसे फाइम लैब, �ांस का EMVCo �माणीकरण �ा� है।

स् वागत पहली �वदेशी �णाली है और िवकिसत देश� के बाहर �कसी देश �ारा �कया गया पहला �यास है। �वागत का इ�तेमाल सभी शहर� म� और प�रवहन के सभी साधन� म� �कया जा सकता है, यानी यह 'एक काड� - एक देश' को च�रताथ� करता है।
