(Calgary/Canada) -Expansion of Storage Management product line on client/server platform Berlin, December 10, 1998. BETA Systems Software AG, Berlin, a leading developer of innovative systems management software products, has signed a letter of intent to acquire HARBOR Systems Management, Ltd. (‘HARBOR’). HARBOR designs, develops and markets distributed storage management solutions, employs around 65 people currently and has an installed base of approximately 350 customers worldwide. The centerpiece of HARBORs product line is a multi-tier, multi-platform enterprise backup system that fits well with BETA Systems strategy to expand its current storage management product line to include decentralized data backup on an enterprise-wide scale. Closing of the transaction is subject to, among other things, completion of the due diligence process and approval of the HARBOR shareholders.
