Januar 1998 Vorläufiges Ergebnis des Geschäftsjahres 1997 Highlights: * Umsatzerlöse stiegen um 21% auf 68,4 Mio DM in 1997 * Ergebnis vor Steuern stieg von 5,2 Mio DM in 1996 um 56% auf 8,1 Mio DM in 1997 * BETA Systems USA wächst um 167% auf 8,8 Mio DM in 1997 BETA Systems Software AG, Berlin setzt weiter auf Software-Innovationen zur Automatisierung von Rechenzentren. Der Konzernumsatz konnte von 56,5 Millionen DM in 1996 um 21% auf 68,4 Millionen DM in 1997 gesteigert werden. Das Ergebnis vor Steuern stieg von 5,2 Millionen DM in 1996 auf 8,1 Millionen DM in 1997. Diese vorläufigen (ungeprüften) Zahlen weisen insbesondere in den USA ein starkes Wachstum auf. Dort stiegen die Umsatzerlöse um 167% von 3,3 Millionen DM in 1996 auf 8,8 Millionen DM in 1997. Wesentliche Neuverträge konnten mit Transamerica, General Electric, Goldman Sachs und Walmart abgeschlossen werden. Dies trug zur positiven Entwicklung der US-Umsätze bei. In Europa stiegen die Umsatzerlöse um 15%, mit besonders guten Ergebnissen in Großbritannien und Skandinavien. Die Umsätze in Deutschland, die weiterhin einen hohen Prozentsatz des Gesamtumsatzes ausmachen, wuchsen um 10%. Darüber hinaus konnten neue Verträge in Osteuropa abgeschlossen werden, die in dieser Region zu einem signifikanten Umsatzwachstum in 1997 beitrugen. BETA Systems Eintritt in den Südamerikanischen Markt über Distributoren führte zu ersten Umsatzerlösen in 1997, unter anderem konnte ein Vertrag mit Telekom Argentinia abgeschlossen werden und somit eine weitere Telekommunikationsgesellschaft als Kunde gewonnen werden. Income before taxes increased from 5.2 million DM in 1996 by 56% to 8.1 million DM in 1997. Preliminary (unaudited ) figures indicate especially strong growth in the US, where revenues were up 167%, increasing from 3.3 million DM in 1996 to 8.8 million DM in 1997. Substantial new contracts with Transameria, General Electric, Goldman Sachs and Walmart led the positive trend in US sales. In Europe sales were up 15%, with especially strong showings in the UK and Scandinavia. Sales in Germany retained a traditional high percentage of overall sales, and increased 10%. In addition, BETA Systemshas closed new contracts in Eastern Europe leading to signifilcant sales growth for 1997. BETA Systems entry into the South American market via distributorships helped sales take off in the first year, including a contract with Telekom Argentina, adding another Telecom campany to BETA Systems customers.
