TioTech and Bergen Carbon Solutions AS join forces to develop a composite material for fast charging batteries!
TioTech and Bergen Carbon Solutions (BCS) has received 500 kNOK in funding from Regionalt Forskningsfond Vestland for the project “TiO2-CNF: A nanocomposite for fast-charging Li-ion batteries”. The project aims to study the feasibility of using black carbon nanofibers from BCS as an additive to improve the fast-charging capabilities of TioTech`s white titania powders and we call it “The black and white project”.
“TioTech aims to develop sustainable battery materials and using carbon negative additives in the battery whilst improving performance is a very attractive proposition. Co-developing technology with companies in the neighbourhood equally represent an opportunity to build an integrated battery value chain in Bergen and Vestland. We are very much looking forward to work on this project”, says Hjørdis Skår, Project Manager.
