Beijer Electronics has today acquired a minority stake in Altus Sistemas de Automação S.A. from Brazil

Beijer Electronics has strengthened its cooperation with the Brazilian automation company Altus. Beijer Electronics has, since 2004, had a distributor partnership through which Altus marketed Beijer Electronics products in the Brazilian market.

Altus Sistemas de Automação S.A. is a high technology company with a strong position in the field of automation products and solutions for industrial automation and process control. Altus Sistemas de Automação S.A.'s main focus is on control systems and the company is well recognised for its competence in the area of high-end PLC control. Altus Sistemas de Automação S.A. is headquartered in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, and has sales offices in nine cities in Brazil. The company was founded in 1982 and today has more than 300 employees and sales in 2012 of approximately 52 MUSD.

Beijer Electronics acquired a 15% minority stake in Altus Sistemas de Automação S.A. with an option to increase to 49% ownership.

The strengthening of the partnership through this new agreement will give Beijer Electronics:

  • access to state of the art powerful control systems
  • expertise in industrial sectors such as oil & gas and energy production
  • a strong platform for the sale of Beijer Electronics' offering in South America
  • opportunity to drive the development of new control products for the global market
