Beiersdorf AG: Realignment of Consumer Supply Chain – In 2008 gains of Euro
15 million instead of Euro 30 million outstanding expenses

While reviewing the impact of the financial effects related to the
realignment of Beiersdorf’s Consumer Supply Chain, which started 2005, new
circumstances have lead the Executive Board in its yesterday’s meeting to
revise the initial estimates. In this connection Beiersdorf now expects
gains of Euro 15 million for 2008. In the expected business developments in
the Annual Report 2007 the company still anticipated expenses of Euro 30
million in 2008. Not only could the sale of various production and
logistics facilities be concluded successfully, but expenses for
outstanding measures were assessed and adjusted according to the scheduled
progress of the project. The planned total expenditures for the realignment
of the Consumer Supply Chain will now be reduced to an amount below Euro
200 million instead of the initially planned Euro 220 million. Beiersdorf
continues to assume that the remaining financial impact will occur in 2008,
and that only minor expenses may occur in the first half of 2009. The cost
savings of Euro 70 million for 2008 and Euro 100 million per year from 2009
onwards remain unchanged.
