Bechtle AG english
Bechtle – Interim half-year figures for 2002 / order intake in July Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Bechtle – Interim half-year figures for 2002 / order intake in July Bechtle returned sales in the first half-year amounting to 349m euros (previous year 297.7m). EBITDA at 8.2m euros was below the comparable value from 2001 (9.8m). In a still weak market environment, the company remains clearly profitable in contrast to large parts of the industry. Overview of the interim figures for the half-year (previous year) – Sales revenues: 349m euros (297.7m euros), EBITDA: 8.2m euros (9.8m euros), EBT: 4.3m euros (5.3m euros) (US-GAAP). Interim figures for the first and second quarter 2002: increase in sales from 165m euros to 184m euros (+11.5%), EBITDA from 3.6m euros to 4.7m euros (+30.4%) and EBT from 1.7m euros to 2.6m euros (+55%). When assessing the results, the following items are to be taken into account: investments in new company locations (Nuremberg, Munich, Kassel, Hamburg, Aschaffenburg) including startup costs, plus staff changes announced in May (including severance payments). This results in a total of around 1.8 million euros in additional expenditure. Earnings due to goodwill amortisation (previous year 1.7m euros) are no longer being allowed (SFAS 142). Instead, 268 thousand euros were amortised on the customer base. There was an increase in order intake in July. At over 89 million euros, it was very clearly above expectations, and was in fact due in part to special orders valued at some 15 million euros. Bechtle does not conclude from this a fundamental upturn on the IT market. The second half-year is traditionally stronger than the first in this sector, so that under these circumstances Bechtle remains committed to achieving its sales target of 800 million euros for 2002. When it issues its Half-Year Report at the end of August, the company will be also present details of the results it expects to achieve in 2002. The report will be available for download in Calendar Week 35 at http://www.bechtle.com.
