Duiven, the Netherlands, October 25, 2007, BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. ("the Company" or "Besi") (Euronext: BESI), a leading manufacturer of assembly equipment for the semiconductor industry, today announced the appointment of Claus Lichtenberg as Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Lichtenberg, (49) will be responsible for the management and oversight of Besi's global production activities and supply chain network. Mr. Lichtenberg has 23 years of industry experience in the semiconductor equipment industry with a specialization in European and Asian manufacturing operations. Prior to joining Besi, he worked in executive capacities at Dover Technology/Alphasem, Suess MicroTec and Carl Zeiss.
Besi's supervisory board will make a proposal for the appointment of Mr. Lichtenberg as a member of Besi's management board at the next annual general meeting of shareholders. Mr Hans Wunderl will resign from the Company's management board effective November 1, 2007.

Duiven, 25 oktober 2007, BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. ("Besi") (Euronext: BESI), een toonaangevende leverancier van machines voor de assemblage van halfgeleiders heeft vandaag de benoeming van de heer Claus Lichtenberg tot Chief Operating Officer bekend gemaakt.
De heer Lichtenberg (49) zal verantwoordelijk zijn voor het management van en het toezicht op Besi's wereldwijde productie-activiteiten en supply chain netwerk. De heer Lichtenberg heeft 23 jaar ervaring in machinebouw voor de halfgeleiderindustrie, met name bij Europese en Aziatische productiebedrijven. De heer Lichtenberg was eerder werkzaam in directie- en managementposities bij Dover Technology/Alphasem, Suess MicroTec en Carl Zeiss.
De raad van commissarissen van Besi zal in de volgende algemene vergadering van aandeelhouders een voorstel doen voor de benoeming van de heer Lichtenberg tot raad van bestuurslid. De heer Hans Wunderl zal met ingang van 1 november 2007 aftreden als raad van bestuurslid van Besi.
