TRADING HALT

The securities of Bathurst Resources Limited (the “Company”) will be placed in Trading Halt Session State at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in Trading Halt Session State until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Wednesday, 2 November 2016 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Bathurst Resources Limited (ASX:BRL) – Request for trading halt under Listing Rule 17.1

Bathurst Resources Limited ( BRL ) requests a trading halt from the commencement of trading on Monday, 31 October 2016 until the close of trading on Tuesday, 1 November 2016 or earlier announcement by BRL.

In accordance with Listing Rule 17.1, I advise that:

• (a) BRL is seeking the trading halt pending release of an announcement in relation to an agreement for sale and purchase with Solid Energy New Zealand Limited for the acquisition of North Island Rotowaro and Maramarua Mines and South Island Stockton, Mt William North and Upper Waimangaroa Mines, and a capital raising;

• (b) BRL is seeking the trading halt to assist in managing its disclosure obligations in relation to the proposed acquisition of assets and capital raising and maintaining an orderly market in the trading of the company’s shares and to ensure that trading does not take place in an uninformed market;

• (c) BRL requests the trading halt until the earlier of:

  • (i) BRL making an announcement to the market concerning the proposed acquisition of assets and capital raising; or

  • (ii) the close of trading on Tuesday, 1 November 2016; and

• (d) BRL is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
