On May 20, 2014, we received the following notification pursuant to § 21
para 1 WpHG:

On May 19, 2014, the percentage holding of the voting rights of the Norges
Bank (the Central Bank of Norway), Oslo, Norway, in BASF SE exceeded the
threshold of 3 % through acquisition and amounts directly to 3.14 %
(28813260 voting rights) on that day.
