The following is a Company Announcement issued by Bank of Valletta p.l.c. pursuant to the Malta Financial Services Authority Listing Rules:

The Board of Directors announces that it was informed by Roderick Chalmers this morning that for personal reasons connected with the loss of a close member of the family, he had asked the Minister of Finance to allow him to stand down as Chairman of the Bank of Valletta as soon as the Minister was able to appoint his successor.

The Chairman stated that he was at the Minister's disposal to effect a smooth handover to whomsoever the Government elected to appoint in his stead – and to provide whatever assistance was required and necessary to secure an orderly transition.
