Bank of Ireland announces that Mr Patrick Haren, Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director, retires on 31 December 2020, having joined Bank of Ireland in January 2012.

Bank of Ireland Chairman, Mr Patrick Kennedy, acknowledged Mr Haren's significant contribution since his appointment in 2012 saying that "Bank of Ireland has benefited greatly from Patrick's significant commercial experience and his thoughtful consideration of all matters during his tenure".

Mr Richard Goulding will succeed Mr Haren as Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director on 1 January 2021. Mr Goulding has served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bank of Ireland since July 2017 and has served as a member on the Audit, Remuneration and Group Transformation Committees and has chaired the Risk Committee since August 2018. On appointment, Mr Goulding will step down from the Remuneration Committee and join the Nomination, Governance & Responsible Business Committee.
